Prologue Part I: To Question Fate

With shaking fingers an old man picked up a calligraphy brush and began making long inky black strokes. Blinded in one eye, he carefully started to write the passage that was passed down between the nobility and the poor. The man had to do his task fast for he feared that his very life was ticking away. He licked his dry lips and shivered despite the warmth emitting from the fireplace in the cozy room. As he wrote down each line with his great penmanship, he read the tale out loud."Long ago, A Goddess and God appeared with no memory of a life they once had and were devoid of memories, but they used their powers to shape this world and connect it with their own realm. For a time all was at peace in Wisteria and between the Gods who were greatly worshiped from above. Light was nothing without death and destruction just as the Light brought comfort to its darker half." He paused to stroke his beard, "The Goddess placed us all in ruin the moment she fell in love with prince Setsuna, the youngest of his five brothers and heir to the throne of White Roses. It was through the Goddess Cosmos's foolishness that started this conflict which split Wisteria apart. It divided the people both Human and non-human into choosing sides. One side was for the ethereal Goddess of Harmony and the other was for the God Chaos. Now is the time to choose a side and fight for your beliefs! But I caution, choose wisely." No sooner had he finished his sentence, a sword pierced the man's chest from behind. The gleaming sword shimmered in the firelight.
The man's blood dripped blood drops on the marble floor and stained his writing desk.

"I wonder. . ." A female voice mused sarcastically as the feeble man coughed blood, "Which side are you?" Glossy pink lips that were ablaze with pink like the blossomed Sakura trees that came in the Spring, curved upward into a playful smile.

"Hehehehe" The man chuckled and wheezed, "I am a servant of the God Chaos! He is my dark savior and mine alone! You shall never defeat the ethereal Witch who can turn nightmares into dreams and cure any curse or disease! With her by his side, they will conquer this kingdom and drive it into the deepest core of destruction!"

`So the rumors were true, this kingdom does have spies working for an unknown enemy.` The feisty young girl thought weighing her options. Her vivid eyes were the color of red sapphires that had a certain fiery spark to them. The glimmering red orbs glanced at the window, 'No doubt whoever betrayed the king to summon their own army, used dark magic.` In expert motion she pulled the sword free and flicked blood off of it, splattering the creamy yellow walls, the crimson liquid was a small taste of what was to come.

Opening the window's latch the beautiful young woman now stood on the ledge feeling the icy coldness of the wind as she looked out into the darkened sky and the thousands of sparkling snowflakes that fell from it.

Metal boots made of black silver clanked against the snowy courtyard, there were at least a thousand inhuman tall soldiers all looking like corpses with shadows concealing most of their appearances. This was some powerful magic, the witch was using.

Each one was cloaked in shadowy armor, their hollow eyes had a red glow with one desire: The desire to kill without mercy. Good, she wasn't going give them that pleasure either.

The royal white rose crest upon their capes billowed in the frosty wind, King Setsuna's army did the best they could to defend their kingdom. The girl felt relieved, she wasn't alone in this fight to defy the God Chaos. Soldiers raised their weapons, and fought with all their might; their thirst for the other's blood was intense. Blood sprayed the pure white snow and most of Setsuna's army was quick to bite the dust. The enemy was formidable she gave them that much as she watched the witch's army kill their numbers like they were swatting flies. Screams of anguish echoed, men's severed limbs flew everywhere, magical spells were cast, summoned beasts of unholy nature feasted upon Setsuna's army,  soon only five hundred soldiers remained, That witch would pay for her dead brethren. The wind whipped the girl's long hair as her lithe body dived into the heart of the battlefield with no regrets.
Read and enjoy part 1 of the prologue that carves the path to the Crystal War!

This song and other epic songs inspired me, but I think this particular one goes well with this 3 part prologue series for the the Crystal War:
